HELINA/Dhruvastra ATGM 

Helina (Helicopter-launched Nag) is air launched version of the Nag ATGM with extended range. It is designed and developed  by Defence Research And Development Organisation (DRDO).

It is guided by an Infrared Imaging Seeker (IIR) operating in the Lock- On-Before-Launched(LOBL) mode and Lock-On-After-Launched (LOAL) mode for target engagement.  The IIR seeker has a 640×512 pixel resolution.  It supports both top attack and direct attack. It has completed all its user trials from 2015-2020 and it is ready of induction.

It is launched  by Twin tube stub wing-mounted launchers.

SANT 

SANT ( Standoff ANti-Tank guided missile) is an upgraded version of HELINA ATGM. It is equipped with active radar homing seeker instead of IIR seeker. It is developed to be used from Attack helicopters, Ground attack aircrafts & UCAV. It was first tested successfully in November 2018. It was tested from Mi-35 in 19th October 2020.

DRDO Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1)

DRDO Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1)
The New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (NGARM) or Rudram-1 is a air-to-surface, anti-radition missile is in under development by Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to provide an air superiority, tactical capability for the Indian Air Force fighter jets. It is designed for suppression of enemy air defence (SEAD), that can destroy enemy's surveillance radars, tracking and communication system. The state of the art missile developed in India is the first of its kind in the IAF arsenal. The missile is jointly produced by Bharat Dynamic Limited (BDL) & Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).


Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDO) is carrying out the design and development work for the missile. The Rudram-1, with a range of 150 km, is the first indigenous air-to-surface missile to be developed by DRDO, after BrahMos cruise missile. It is integrated with Su-30 MKI, in future it will be integrated with Mirage 2000, Jaguar, Tejas, Tejas Mk.2/ MWF.

R-77 to be replaced in Indian Air Force 

Yes, India is going to replace the Russian R-77 missile which is deployed in Su-30MKI. It is being replaced due to its poor performance in the front of PAF in February 2019. It being replaced by R-77-1 ( upgraded variant of R-77), R-27ER, R-27ET, Astra & I- Derby by 2022.

R-77

It is a Russian medium- range active radar homing air-to-air missile.

Range: 80- 100 km

Speed: Mach 4

It is currently being used in MiG-21, MiG-29 & Su-30MKI . Indian has ordered 400 R-77-1 missiles in 2019.

R-77-1 range: 110 km.

R-27

It is a medium- to- long range air to air missile developed by the Soviet Union.

IAF is using two variants of this missile.

R-27 T: 40 km

R-27 R: 80 km

Speed: Mach 4.5

It is currently being used in MiG-29 & Su-30 MKI.

India has ordered 300 R-27 ER & R-27 ET missiles in 2019.

It is a all weather beyond visual range active radar homing air-to-air missile developed by India.

It is used in HAL Tejas.

In May 2019, IAF planned to replace the whole batch of R-77 missile used in Su-30MKI with I- Derby & Astra by 2022.

The Dassault Rafale is a 4.5 generation multi-role fighter jet manufactured by Dassault corporation for French Air Force & Navy. It is an omnirole aircraft which can perform air supermacy, in-depth strike, anti-ship strike and nuclear deterrence missions.

It will replace Su-30MKI as the best fighter jet in Indian Air Force. Indian Air Force has ordered 36 jets, 2 squadron (28 single-seat and 8 dual-seat).

Meteor is the next generation of Beyond Visual Range Air-to-air Missile (BVRAAM) with a effective kill range of 150 km. Currently, it is the best air-to-air missile in the world. It's no-escape zone of over 60 km is largest among all air-to-air missiles.
It will provide air superiority to Indian Air Force over Chinese & Pakistani air force.

2. MICA Missile 
Mica is a multi-target air-to-air missile with a range of 80 km. It is a dual role missile. It is able to cope with both BVR or WVR targets and exhibits high performance and can cruise at Mach 4.

3. SCALPE Missile aka Storm Shadow 
The Storm Shadow/ SCALP is a long range, subsonic, air-launched cruise missile with a range of more than 500 km. The missile is intended to strike high-value targets such as airbases, radar installations, naval ports with its 450 kg warhead. With it's long-range, stealth, it is capable of engaging targets precisely in any weather conditions.
It will increase IAF airstrike capability.

5. Bulava (Russia)
The Bulava is a new Russian submarine- launched ballistic missile. The Bulava ia a naval variant of the Topal- M. It is used on 3 Borie class submarines. 16 missile can be carried in each submarine.

Astra is an all weather beyond visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). It is the first air-to-air missile developed by India. It features mid-cource intertial guidance with terminal active radar homing.

It uses an inertial guidance system driven by a fiber optic gyroscope with terminal guidance through active radar homing. It can bear 40G turns & uses a smokeless rocket motor which makes it hard to detect.
ASTRA is a Beyond Visual Range (BVR) class of Air-to-Air Missile (AAM) system designed to be mounted on fighter aircraft. The missile is designed to engage and destroy highly manoeuvring supersonic aircraft. The missile has all weather day and night capability. The missile is being developed in multiple variants to meet specific requirements. The ASTRA Mk-I Weapon System integrated with SU-30 Mk-I aircraft is being inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Astra is equipped with electronic counter- countermeasures to allow operation even during enemy attempts to jam the seeker using electronic countermeasures. It carries a 15 kg (33 lb) high  explosive pre-fragmented warhead activated by a proximity fuse. Astra uses a smokeless solid fuelled motor that can propel the missile to a speed of Mach 4.5 and allows operation from a maximum altitude of 20 km (66,000 ft). The maximum range of Astra is 110 km (68 mi) in head-on chase mode and 20 km (12 mi) in tail chase mode. It has a No- Escape zone of about 30 km. The maximum range is achieved when the missile launched from an altitude of 15 km (49,000 ft). When it is fired from an altitude of 8 km (26,000 ft), the range drops to 44 km (27 mi) and when it is launched from sea level, the range drops further to 21 km (13 mi). Astra's low aspect ratio wings allow it to engage manoeuvring targets up to a range of 80 km (50 mi) in head-on chase mode and 20 km (12 mi) in tail chase mode. It can be launched in both autonomous and buddy mode operation and can lock on to its target before or after it is launched.

Variants:-
Astra Mk I: 110 km (68 mi, 30 km of No- Escape zone). It is equivalent to AIM-120C. In active service;

Astra IR: 40 km (24 mi), it is the next generation CCM, it will use an electro-optical infrared homing seeker. It will be capable of "lock-on after launch" (LOAL), and has full-sphere/all-direction (including rearward) attack ability. The missile will features an advanced electro-optical infrared homing seeker which scans the target area for hostile aircraft, then locks-on for terminal chase.It would be equivalent to Python 5.It is currently under development.

Astra Mk II: 160 km (99 mi), it will use Dual- Pulse rocket motor, it will feature a extended no-escape zone & a longer range almost double the previous variant, it would be equivalent to AIM-120D. It is currently under development.

Astra Mk III: 340 km (211 mi) maximum, it will use Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology, The weapon is also equipped with data link communication. Aimed at meeting the needs of a network centric environment, it would be equivalent to Meteor.( Planned)

9. MR-SAM 

The Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (or MR-SAM) project was introduced when Indian Air Force decided to replace the ageing Russian-made air defense systems.

   The MR-SAM air defense system was jointly developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for the Indian Air force and Indian Army.

10. Iron Dome 

The Iron Dome is an Israeli missile defense system, developed by Rafael. The program was started in 2005 and development began in 2007. The Iron Dome was designed to provide coverage for cities against enemy short-range ballistic missiles, artillery rockets and 155-mm artillery shells. This missile defense system was first deployed in 2011. Since then it proved itself well and saved many lives. A number of countries from around the world expressed their interest in purchasing this missile defense system from Israel.
